It can't be wrong if it makes you feel good, right? How many times have you heard someone say to someone else they are angry with to "go to hell?" The significance of sin and the reality of hell means nothing, perhaps even less than nothing if that is even possible, in today's society. In this sermon, Pastor Begg focuses on Mark 9 verses 42 through the end of the chapter, cross-referencing other passages along the way. The Bible does not trivialize sin or hell. It is very clear about them both. We ought not to join society in its trivialization of sin and hell; instead, hold fast to the truth found in the Bible about the severity and reality of each. Signs of the End of DaysWe are on the tenth and final sign. This evening we begin looking at Satan, Anti-Semitism, and the Miracle of Israel. But before we do, let’s review what Jesus explained to His disciples. First Jesus frames the world at the end of Days through the prophets that have already written an immense amount of prophetic road maps. From these we see at the end of days a world increasingly characterized by:#1: The Sign of Global Travel (Daniel 12:4 many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”)# 2: The Sign of a Global Explosion of Information (Daniel 12:4b many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”)#3: The Sign of Global Disaster Awareness (Luke 21:25-26 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. #4: The Sign of Global Communication (Revelation 11:9-10 Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. #5: The Sign of Global Commerce: Digitalized Money, Global Tracking and Positioning (Revelation 13:16-17 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.)#6: The Sign of Global Apostasy, Demonism, and Hatred of Christianity (I Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron)#7: The Sign of Global Pestilences (Matthew 24:7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.) If your translation does not have “pestilence” look in Luke 21:11 the parallel account, and you will see it there. This evening we see on the horizon the world Jesus described in Matthew 24 and Revelation 6. #8: The Sign of Global Evangelism (Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come). Today, portions or the entire Bible have been translated into over 2,300 languages and dialects covering over 90% of the world's population. #9: The Sign of Weapons of Mass Destruction. (Matthew 24:21-22 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.)
