Ready for a slice of paradise?

With the memories of freezing temperatures lingering across the country, or even patches of (ugh) snow stillin some corners, a bit of sunshine and warmth would be extremely welcome right now. Add on the stressors of the past 12 months and a vacation at an all-inclusive resort in Hawaii (or one of the all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean) starts to look like the ultimate dream. Hawaii is now open to travelers from the U.S. and Canada, but there are some important guidelines that must be followed before you travel, and once on the island, face masks and social distancing are mandatory.

In accordance with the Hawaii Safe Travels program, all travelers entering any of the Hawaiian islands (except Kauai) must undergo a mandatory 10-day quarantine, unless they have a confirmed negative COVID-19 test taken within the 72 hours before departing for Hawaii. The test must be administered by one of the state’s trusted travel partners. Once in Hawaii, if you intend to travel between islands, you must follow the Safe Travels guidelines and have proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken in the 72 hours before departure. If you test positive for COVID-19 at any time during your trip, you will be required to undergo a mandatory 10-day quarantine at your own expense, with serious consequences for anyone breaking quarantine. Definitely something to be aware of before you go! If you’re concerned, you could always take a road trip closer to home or opt for a staycation, maybe at one of these amazing all-inclusive resorts in the continental United States, or head to a secret resort in another locale.

At the moment, there is no change in the state of Hawaii’s travel guidelines for those who are fully vaccinated. It is probable that Hawaii will implement a “vaccine passport” in the coming months to allow those who are vaccinated to travel more easily, but there is no current indication as to when that will be. If you’re ready to book, plan ahead, or just daydream, check out these 10 gorgeous spots in paradise.

    Hāna-Maui Resort, Maui

This beautiful all-inclusive resort in Hawaii is practically made for pandemic vacations, with only 74 rooms spread over 66 acres. After you traverse the corkscrew twists and one-lane bridges that wind through the thick green forest of the beautiful Road to Hāna, check into this blissful resort instead of navigating back to the hustle and bustle of civilization. A mix of barefoot luxury and blissful quiet, the resort cottages and ocean bungalows are all close enough to the ocean that you’ll hear nothing but the surf whispering on the shore as you drift off to sleep.

The resort is currently offering a Plane to Paradise Package, where instead of driving the famous Road to Hāna, you will be picked up at OGG (Kahului Airport), HNL (Honolulu), LNY (Lānai), or JHM (Kapalua) airports with no baggage fees, and board a 10-seat Cessna for a flight above the dramatic coastline (with optional champagne!). At the resort, stays of four nights or longer receive a $100 dining credit, $100 spa credit, and welcome amenities. At the moment, stays booked by April 2 (for trips through September 12) receive 10 to 25 percent off, with rooms starting at $611 (not including the Cessna flight).
