Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming macOS Sonoma 14.6 update to developers, with the second software coming two weeks after Apple released the first beta.

Apple Seeds Second Beta of macOS Sonoma 14.6 to Developers (3)

Registered developers can opt-in to the beta through the Software Update section of the System Settings app. Note that an Apple ID associated with an Apple Developer account is required to get the beta.

We don't yet know what might be included in macOS Sonoma 14.6, and no new features were discovered in the first beta.

Are they updates for Monterey and Ventura too? And does this fix the ventura version issue?

It looks like they are using 13.6.7 instead of 13.6.8 again.

yes it’s

13.6.7 rc 7 build 22G810

12.7.6 rc 2 build 21H1310

but the ventura one is stupid as 13.6.7 has already been released

if it isn’t going to be 13.6.8 maybe 13.6.7.1 -

or what is going to happen after they finish the rcs, release 13.6.7 again? That’s confusing.

why monterey get new version number and ventura doesn’t?

Given the lettering c for iOS/iPadOS, b for macOS, and a for TVOS, probably 1 more beta, and maybe an RC before release.

Yes this is odd.
So Ventura is now beginning the H in the build id. Maybe are they planning another Ventura release before the on that is in testing?

Is that really the Ventura build id? I have noticed that is the Monterey 12.6.7 rc2 id.
Are they really using the same for both RC releases? Than will be very odd

No.

Monterey is 12.7.6 rc 2 build 21H1310

Ventura is 13.6.7 rc 7 build 22G810

The issue is why release rcs for a version of ventura that has already been released.

You know how it works higher web traffic generates more income associated with some ad placement. But diffidently using one online article source to create 5 to 10 articles concerning every minor sub-topic is nuts at times. There are time I wonder where some more important news is on MacRumor, and then I find they created it hours ago and there are just that many recent minor articles that obscure that important topic. Agree, it's pretty obvious that it's all driven by clicks.

Great point about how to find the truly important news at times.

Regardless of the motivation I think it's better to have them in separate threads

Many people would only be interested in the macos betas , or only the ios betas etc. It gets too cluttered and confusing if they are all bunched together in 1 thread.

And it gets especially cluttered when people are discussing a half-dozen different OSes in a single thread.

Try Brave. It uses AV1 for 8K (software/hardware decode) instead of only VP9 with Youtube. Quitting with a series of tabs opened, will open all your tabs again when relaunched. Built-in ad block, you can see it easily work compared to lastest Safari or Firefox 127.0.2. Try going to a site that constantly tries to force ads with redirected tabs opening, they are stopped. Youtube plays without ads.

Brave is a free and open-source web browser developed by Brave Software, Inc. based on the Chromium web browser. Brave is a privacy-focused browser, which automatically blocks most advertisem*nts and website trackers in its default settings.

Yes I use Safari and Firefox comparably on AS Macs.
